田舎へ帰ろう~PALAKKADで田園風景を愉しむ④ Palakkad Tour Part 4

前回の記事に書いたPALAKKADツアー2つ目の目玉！

Today I'll post about my special experience I had which I mentioned in my previous post.


Mangalam Damというダムのボートクルーズでした。ダムの施設内に住んでいる人達の移動用ボートなので、本来は一般の人は乗れないらしいのですが、THANKS TO警察官のお兄さん！お兄さんの口利きにより特別に乗せてもらうことができました。

It was a boat cruise I had at a dam called Mangalam Dam. This boat is only used as a transportation method only for those who live on the opposite bank, but thanks to policeman brother of my friend, we got special permission to ride.

足場の板がめちゃくちゃグラグラして恐かったです。

It was kind of scary to ride this but it imparted a sense of excitement.

皆気持ち良さそうです。この後突然雨が降ってきたのですが、それはそれで趣があって楽しかったです。

Everyone enjoyed this relaxing and cooling cruise. It started raining after a while, enhancing the ambience.

We were able to see greenery everywhere.

2、30分程ボートクルーズを楽しんだ後はダム側のお散歩道からさっきクルーズした場所を眺めました。

After the 20-30 minutes cruise, we enjoyed a short walk along the pathway.

ダム。左側が私たちがボートクルーズをした場所です。

This is the dam. The left side of it is where we had the cruise.

一通りダムを楽しんだ後は、奥さんのご実家へご挨拶。外国人は珍しいのか皆さんで大歓迎してくれました。お母さんなんて嬉しさの余り、会った途端に熱い抱擁をしてくれました。感激です。

Then, we headed to the wife's house to greet them. A foreigner rarely found here, they welcomed us with glee and impressively, the mother even gave me a big hug upon meeting her. 

左側が奥さんのご両親、右が奥さんのお兄さん。皆似ている！！

On the left is the wife's parents and the right her elder brother. They surely are a family, look so alike!

お母さんが私達の為にお菓子を作ってくれていました。中でもこのunniappamに完全にハマってしまい、遠慮もせずに何個も食べてしました。甘くて優しい味のお菓子です。

Mother made a couple of sweets for us, and among them, I was totally addicted by this sweet, unniappam. I think I had at least 10 of them. 

その後は、旦那さんの親戚のご自宅へ。豪勢なディナーを用意してくれていました。インドのアンマのご飯はどこも美味しいけど、ここのアンマのご飯は特別美味しかったです。

We visited the husband's relative for dinner. All of the amma's food is delicious but I must say she was especially amazing with cooking. Everything was so high leveled in taste. 

キッチンの様子からも奥さんはかなりの料理好きと見て取れます。こんなキッチンいいなー理想で
す。

You can see her love towards cooking from this kitchen.

以上で4回に渡るPALAKKAD旅の記録は終了です。
次回は旅に行ってからもっとタイムリーに更新できるようにしよう…(^_^;)

So this was what I enjoyed in Palakkad. Next time, I will try to update my posts more timely...
