PALAKKADで迎える二回目の朝です。
今日も澄んだ空気をたっぷり吸いこんで、さあおはよう！
The second morning in Palakkad. Breath in the fresh air and I greeted the others"Good morning!"
（万が一気になっていた方の為に、前回の記事では書きませんでしたが、結局少数民族の方々には会えませんでした。）
Just in case for those who were curious if I were able to meet people of the minority tribe... well, I couldn't!!
インドと言われなければ日本だと思ってしまいそうな田園風景です。
PALAKKADではリスも早起きです。ココナッツにガツガツ食らいついていました。逆立ち姿勢で器用に食べるなんて、さすがヨガ発祥の国、驚きの朝食風景です。
やっとの事でNelliyampathy（ネリヤンパティー）に到着です。入場ゲートで料金を支払って道を進みます。目的地は頂上。車でひたすら登ります。雰囲気が若干長野のビーナスラインに似ていました。
頂上の少し手前に、インドのオーガニック食品メーカー、POABSの売店がありました。スパイスやオーガニックの紅茶が販売されていました。スパイスのパッケージがDEAN&DELUCAっぽくてお洒落でした。
Just a few miles before the top, there was a shop organized by POABS, an organic food maker in India. Here you can purchase organic tea leaves and spices.
紅茶ソーダを頂きました。なかなかの美味で、私の「美味しい」の連呼に影響されて、友人家族もこぞって注文していました。
I ordered tea soda and this was tasty! My friends and their family were influenced by my impression and at the end, all of us were having the same drink!
売店近くの駐車場に車を停めて、そこからは徒歩で頂上に向かいます。正味10分位でしょうか？途中の茶畑です。この辺りから濃い霧が立ち込めて凄く神秘的な雰囲気を醸し出していました。
We parked the car near the shop and headed for the top by walking for about 10 minutes. This picture is a tea plantation, one of the places that I liked. It was foggy and misty like a natural shower.
この木がNelliyampathy（ネリヤンパティー）のシンボルツリーだそうです。頂上の至る所で見ることができました。日本の松の木みたいです。

今日は友人一押しのPLAKKAD一の観光地、Nelliyampathy（ネリヤンパティー）に行く予定です。友人宅から若干距離があるとのことで6時に起床。ご飯が出来るまでの間、再び近所を散策します。
Today, we are planning to visit one of the most famous sightseeing places here called Nelliyampathy. The place is a distance away from my friends place, so we woke up at 6:00. While mother was preparing breakfast, I took a walk around the neighbor.

Very similar to the paddy field scenery in Japan.

Squirrels wake up early in Palakkad too. She was eating a coconut greedily. The posture while she is having food...she surely is a yogini, born in India.
手作りブランコ。こういうの小さいころ凄く憧れました。
I've always wanted to have one of these...
ワンコは早起き仲間ではないのか、小屋の中で寝ていました。
The doggy didn't seem to be an early rising member.

彼のコケコッコー！の声が目覚まし時計でした。
He, the rooster was an alarm clock during my stay. Always punctual he was ;)
散策に満足した後に、いざ出発です。友人宅から車でだいたい1時間半くらいかかったでしょうか？途中ハイウエイに乗ったのですが、日本の高速を知っている私からすると普通の一般道でした(^_^;)
After having breakfast, we started our journey. It took about an hour and a half. On the way, we rode on the highway, but as a Japanese, it looked like a normal road to me.
やっとの事でNelliyampathy（ネリヤンパティー）に到着です。入場ゲートで料金を支払って道を進みます。目的地は頂上。車でひたすら登ります。雰囲気が若干長野のビーナスラインに似ていました。
そして入場して早々予想外な出会いが！！これは！！トカゲ？？？インドでは道のど真ん中に牛がたたずんでいる風景は一般的かと思いますが、まさかトカゲまでとは思いませんでした。このカメレオン、ドヤ顔で車の前にしばらく立ちふさがっていました…眼力同様、気も強そうです。
At last, here we are a Nelliyampathy. After paying the entrance fee, we headed to the top of the hill by car. Right after entering the place, there was a pleasant surprise...We happened to bump into a reptile.
カメレオンとの出会いの興奮がさめやらぬ状態ではありますが、中腹辺りでお昼ご飯を食べることにしました。
We decided to have lunch at this place.
目の前にあるプチ滝？で手を洗います。水が冷たくて気持ち良かったー！
In front, there was a petit fall and there we washed our hands. The water was so clear.
みんなで一列になって、頂きまーす！緑の中で頂くご飯は美味しさ倍増、大食いに更に拍車がかかって相当食べました。
We had food like this picture, in a row. Having food in this wild fresh area stimulated my appetite and I couldn't stop eating.
メニューは、イドゥリとカダラカレー（ケララ州版ヒヨコ豆カレー）。食器代わりのバナナリーフは友人の家の庭になっているバナナの木の葉です！地産地消ならぬ自宅産地消、嗚呼、贅沢すぎます。
Mother's homely made food. The menu is Idli and Kadala Curry, a traditional chickpea curry in Kerala.
食事も無事済んだので、再び頂を目指します。途中やたら猿を目撃しました。この光景…さながら日光のよう！？日本の観光地の猿同様、人間慣れしている猿たちでした。右の猿なんて喧嘩売ってますね･･･。
There were a whole bunch of monkeys waiting for us on the way.They seemed to be accustomed to human like that in Nikko, Japan.
途中に休憩所がありました。チャイや軽食の用意がありました。
There was a little stall on the way half up the hill station.
休憩所から臨む隣の山。神々しいです。

到着ー！いつもは下の景色が見えるらしいのですが、あいにくこの日は霧が多くてはっきりとは見えませんでした。
Finally at the top! Unfortunately, due to the cloudy weather, we were not able to see the ground clearly.
聞き慣れない言語が耳に入ってくることが多かったです。、他州から訪れている人が多いことを物語っています。
I heard Tamil, and some other languages that I couldn't recognize and this meant people from other states visit this place as well as people from Kerala.
この木がNelliyampathy（ネリヤンパティー）のシンボルツリーだそうです。頂上の至る所で見ることができました。日本の松の木みたいです。
This tree is a symbol of this place. You can find it everywhere on the top.
しばらく頂上でまったりした後に、本日2つ目の目玉に向かいます。次回に続きます…。
We stayed here for a while and relaxed. On the way back home, there was another special experience I had....I will post about it the next time.
