光陰矢の如し！久しぶりの投稿 Time Flies! New post after more than a year

久しぶりの投稿になります。最後の投稿からしばらくして日本に帰国し、早一年が過ぎようとしています。帰国直前にインドを旅したことや、治療のため受けたアーユルヴェーダの話しなど、書こうと思っていたことは山ほどありますが、諸事情によりなかなか投稿出来ずにいました。その理由についてはまた今度…。

2017年の夏を迎える頃、念願叶って、長年の夢であった南インド料理教室を始めることになりました。

このブログも再開しますので、覗きにきて頂けると嬉しいです。


It's been a while from my last post. I returned to Japan nearly a year back and spending my ordinary days here again. Despite my will to write about my journey of India and my unexpected ayurveda treatment, there were some difficulties to actually do that until now. Planning to write about that later on.

Welcoming summer of 2017, my dream in years to start an Indian Cooking Class is beginning to take shape.

Along with the commencement of the class, I will resume this blog again so hope to see you here again, thank you.

Perumvaboorから南下してKumarakomへ / To Kumarakom from Perumvaboor

Perumbavoorから南下してアレッピーとコッタヤムの間にあるKumarakomへ。知り合いがここに所有する土地を見学させてもらいました。何と！その土地まで船で行くそうです。アレッピー以外で初のバックウオーター体験！

From Perumbavoor, we headed to the North to go to Kumarakom, where my senior has a property to guide us. We used a private bus to reach the land, and this was my second backwater experience after Alleppey.

アレッピー同様、Kumarakomも外国人観光客に有名な土地みたいですが、日本ではあまり聞かない気が？西洋人に知名度の高い場所とお思われます。

Same to Alleppey, Kumarakom seems to be a quite famous tourist spot to Western people, but far as I know, not that much in Japan.

いざ、目的地に向かって船に乗ります。

The below boat was the the one which sent us to the property.

到着地点からの一枚。船に乗っている親子。お母さんが漕いでいました。交通手段が船なんてなんだかロマンチックです。でも雨の日は大変ですね。

到着後、新鮮なココナッツジュースをたらふく飲ませて頂き（多分3，4個分飲んだ）、土地にある木々を見せて頂きました。こちらはマンゴーの王様、アルフォンソマンゴーの木。次は実る時期におお邪魔しなくちゃ（笑）

Firstly had three to four of the super fresh coconut juice and went for a nature tour taking a look mainly at the trees. The above is the king of mangoes, alphonso mango. I got to visit again during the harvest season ;P

日本ではあまり馴染みのないフルーツ、カスタードアップル。

Not familiar in Japan, but a common fruit here, custard apple.

中の汁がスポンジのようになっているココナッツ。食べてみたらすごい不思議な食感でした。

The inside juice was a sponge-like texture coconut.

1時間半ほどかけて見学したものの、まだ全体のほんの一部でしかないようで！全てを網羅するには、丸一日必要そうです。

The whole land was enormous, we only finished just a tiny bit of it after one and a half hours. We need a whole day to take a look at all of it.

土地の中央部分にある大きな沼。緑いっぱいで非常にリフレッシュできました。

They even have a pond inside their place!! This kind of tranquility is just what I needed :)

コーチンの近くにあるPerumbavoorを訪れる / Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district

若い頃は都会に憧れたりもしたけど、この年齢になると自然を求めるのは人間の性でしょうか？トリバンドラムから北東へ、コーチンに近いPerumbavoorに連れて行って頂きました。空気は旨いしめしも旨い！最高でした。

I used to desire to live in the city area full of exciting spots that I can enjoy throughout the day, but now that I have aged enough, I realize the real value of a village place and where you can feel pure harmony. My senior took me to a place called Perumbavoor which is in the Ernakulam district, Northeast to Trivandrum. Of course the food I had was amazing, but along with that, the air there was so clean and yummy :)

家の前の道路。のどかです～。何てことのない道だけど、あまりにも穏やかな空気に心が浄化されるようで、しばらくここを離れることができませんでした。

A normal road on a normal day, but couldn't leave here because it is full of serenity which makes me calm and purified.

At their house, they provide organic farm products and fishes.

これはほんの一部ですが、ココナッツの木。その他にもホーリーバジルなどの苗がおいてありました。

ご飯もたくさんご馳走になったのですが、その中でもこのビーフフライは絶品でした！つまみにぴったりなお味でした。

Among all the dishes that I enjoyed, I must say this is my favorite, beef fry.



そして今まで食べたバナナチップスでナンバー1！これを食べてから他のバナナチップスが食べられません…罪深いバナナチップスです。

This banana chip made me numb to any other banana chips after tasting this....what a sinful banana chip it is ;P

この井戸水が甘くて柔らかくて美味しすぎて、ペットボトル何本かに入れて持ち帰らせて頂きました。

I loved their water from this well and I even took back some to my home putting in some pet bottles.

家の裏手にある自然プール。この後、子供達はここで飛び込み合戦の大暴れ…。私もあと20年早くここを訪れて皆と遊びたかった！と自分の年齢を恨めしく思うのでした。

やっぱり心地よい宿Silverweed Homestay / Siverweed Homestay in Fort Cochin

コーチンでの常宿「Silverweed Homestay」にまた行って来ました。前にも記事にしました。いつ来ても落ち着く雰囲気…。アンマのご飯は相変わらず美味…。そして私の大好きなベランダの景色も変わらず素敵すぎる！ベランダの写真ばっかり撮っていて、肝心の料理の写真を撮り忘れました。

A place I always stay at Cochin (my previous post). As many of you know, I am a big fan of Fort Cochin, and maybe most of the credit goes to this lovely homestay, "Silverweeed Homestay." There are three points I love about this place, first is the botanical veranda, second is the cleanliness and tidiness and lastly is amma's delicious dishes.

アンマ！

Amma!

アンマはいつも心打つ名言を私に与えてくれます。お客さんとしてではなく、もっと近い関係で接してくれる温かい方です。客室がいつも綺麗にメンテナンスされているのが凄い！と話していたら、「私はいつも仕事に真摯なの」と一言。かっこいいです。ある時は「料理はアートなのよ」と教えてくれ、「じゃあアンマはアーティストですね」と私が言うと「ふふ、そうね」と優しく微笑んでくれました。

Amma treats you more like a family than a customer and always gives me a quotable line that I always can keep in my heart. One day, I was emphasising how neat and clean the rooms are. Amma responded, "I am sincere to my work." What a professional she is. Another time was that she told me "Cooking is Art." Then I said "Then amma, you are an Artist." Amma calmly responded, "Yes" with a smile on her face. 

そんなアンマが料理教室で大賞を受賞したそうで！おめでとうございます！！

Amma recently won the prize for a cooking contest!! Congratulations and I will always be your fan.

フォートコーチンのお勧め宿「Niyati」/ Compact but peaceful hotel "Niyati"

フォートコーチンの気になる宿に泊まってきました。まだ新しい「Niyati Boutique Home Stay」です。

泊まった部屋。

他の部屋。ちょっとデザイナーズっぽい雰囲気です。センスの良い調度品が飾られています。トイレも綺麗だし、温水シャワーも出るし、立地も抜群！思ったよりリーズナブルだし、かなりポイント高いです。

屋上には談笑スペースが。ここで語り明かすのも乙です。

中庭もあります。

ゴテゴテしていなくて、とにかくシンプルでナチュラルです。

フォートコーチンでチベット料理 / Tibetan resutaurant at Fort Cochin

訪れて以来、ここで食べたチーズモモを想う日々が続いています…。このチベットレストランのモモは食べる価値大ありです。

After visiting this place, I can't stop thinking when to go again and what to eat next time. This Tibetan restaurant serves amazing momo and I am totally in love with it!! Fabulous.

フォートコーチンにある、サンタクルス教会の脇にあります。お店の名前は「Tibetan Chef's Restaurant」です。

"Tibetan Chef's Restaurant" is very close to Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica in Fort Cochin.

小道を入った所にひっそりとたたずんでいるお店です。カタカリセンターにも近いです。

チキン・タントゥク（Thenthuk）という平たい麺の入ったスープ。麺の食感はきしめんっぽかったです。

メジャーなチベット料理、トゥクパ。ここの麺はほかのお店に比べて少し太めな印象でした。

そしてこれが私が忘れられないチキンチーズモモインスープです。生地のもちもち感と具のジューシーさ、そしてチーズがこれまた合うんだわー。次はこれをたらふく食べる予定です。

This is the dish I have a crush on and will have it forever...Chicken cheese momo in soup. Everything seemed to be perfect.

こちらは揚げたモモです。これも美味！どのメニューも美味しかった。近いうちにまた行かねば！

Fried chicken momo. Every dish was so tasty I was in a good mood throughout the day :) Gotta visit this place soon.

フォートコーチンの風景 / Sceneric place, Fort Cochin

何度訪れても飽きないお気に入りスポット、フォートコーチン。やっぱり好きです。今回はコーチンの中でも好きな風景をいくつかリストアップしてみました（ありすぎて選びきれない！）。

I had a chance to visit Fort Cochin again. Always full of energy and art. Pls take a look at some of the pictures I took there. Such a photogenic place it is :)

蔦好き人間として、このカフェ「Teapot Cafe」の外観はまさに好みど真ん中。

As an ivy lover, I can't stop taking pictures whenever I pass by this cafe, Teapot.

店内をのぞき見。雰囲気がまったりとしていて落ち着ける度満点です。

最近、別の場所（と言っても同じフォートコーチン）から移転した「niramaaya」は、アーユルヴェーダの教えに基き、自然素材、自然染料を使った製品を取り扱うショップ。衣類をメインに、タオルなども置いてあります。ここのヨガマット（全て天然素材で作られている。お値段2000ルピー）がいつか欲しい！

A shop "niramaaya" selling naturally dyed products. This shop was shifted to this place recently from another place in Fort Cochin. All products are made from organically grown fabric and naturally dyed. Someday, I would like to buy their yoga mat (2,000rupees)  which the material and the process of making is totally organic!

トリバンドラムの雑貨屋さん「Sarwaa」/ Beautiful electic shop-Sarwaa

トリバンドラムにあるお洒落な雑貨屋さん。Sarwaaにこの前行って来ました。トリバンドラムを訪れた際には是非とも寄って頂きたい場所です。

I insist this is a must destination for a traveller to visit when you come to Trivandrum. A shop full of dreamy items called Sarwaa.

以前こちらのオーナーさんと日本食を作ったのですが、その時に作ったお蕎麦を彼女がたいそう気に入り、バンガロールにいる旦那さんに買ってもらったそう。ただ、つゆがどうしてもない、ということで、日本から持ってきたつゆを届けに行きました。

Before, I made Japanese dishes together with the owner. She was so fond of the noodles that we prepared and asked to her husband in Bangalore to purchase the same since it was available there. Unfortunately they couldn't find the 'tsuyu' which is the special soup for it, so I went to Sarwaa to give her the tsuyu that I have.

お店の看板。Sasthamangalamという町の住宅街の中にあるのでちょっと見つけづらいのですが、こうやって看板があると助かりますね！

It is located at a rather residential area in Sasthamangalam. From Sasthamangalam junction, walk about 5 minutes, then you will be spotting these two signboards.

入口を入ってすぐはこんな感じです。

Right after the entrance, these beautiful ornaments will say hello to you.

奥はこんな感じです。雑貨からストール、バッグなどなど。他のお部屋にはアクセサリーや洋服などもあります。

From key chain to notebook, bags, stoles etc....This is surely and ideal place to purchase gifts for someone. You can take a look at clothes and jewerly in other rooms.

いつも可愛いなーと見とれてしまう照明。インドっぽさ満点です。

I always love taking a look at these lamps.

奥にはカフェもあり、ここのクレープとワッフルが美味しいのです！トリバンドラムでこういうスイーツを食べれるところは少ないので、かなり有難いです。

They have this relaxing outdoor cafe and here you can taste amazing crepes and waffles ;) It is hard to find places you can have these kind of desserts in Trivandrum.

この日オーナーさんは不在で、旦那さんが代わりにいました。彼のご好意でカフェでご馳走になっちゃいました！写真はバナナチョコクレープ。切り込みを入れたところで写真を撮ることを思い出して、急いでパシャリ。もちろんこの後は入れ食い！！ジュースもご馳走になりましたが美味しさに熱狂して写真を撮るのを失念…。

This day, instead of the owner, her husband was available at the shop. He was so kind to treat us the cafe menu. I ordered my favorite, banana crepe :) After cutting it, I realized I forgot to take pictures of it ;P I also had a juice, but this one, I totally forgot about taking pictures ;P

インドとヨーロッパを折衷した雰囲気のお店で、女子は好きなこと間違いなしです！

The owner used to live in Germany and I think because of that, Sarwaa has a special mixture of India and Europe. I am sure every lady will be loving this place :)
